BRAND strategy AND PRODUCT MARKETING.
Enterprises and their brands face many, varied challenges. Entrants and scale-ups strive for clarity, while incumbents fight to hold ground in crowded markets. Many categories are dealing with tech-led turbulence and most face the headwinds of uncertain global dynamics.
Over the last decade, the studio has designed proven, scalable capabilities. Practically, each engagement is customised to each company – its category, customers and competitors.
Perfect for CxOs and marketing leadership to adjust the volume and tuning of their brand strategy... for scale, differentiation, and disruption.
WHAT MIGHT YOU EXPECT FROM A FREELANCE ENGAGEMENT?
FLEXIBLE SCOPING: Shown below is an example phased approach to developing a brand strategy. However, I always work flexibly, scoping exactly what each project needs.
FOCUSED SPRINTS: This means engagements focus on specific deliverables; such as team workshops, brand futures, competitive audits, brand architectures, RKO keynotes... marketing campaigns, and sales toolkits.
CASE STUDIES: You can find selected engagements in the projects section.
PHASE 1: START WITH DISCOVERY. AUDIT AND ACCELERATOR
As a starting point, I regularly use a 4C FRAMEWORK. This is ideal for both companies with existing documents and data, as well as those wanting a fresh exploration of a market.
Here, we collate and organise any information you have, connecting it with a market audit to recommend a brand positioning. This quickly brings diverse inputs into a single brand narrative — while framing a clear set of strategic choices.
If you need to run workshops and undertake stakeholder interviews, that is not a problem. Everything is scoped and charged based on exactly what you need.
Timeline: 1 to 2 weeks.
Deliverables: A diagnostic audit and draft brand framework. Mapping market advantage, baseline positioning, and opportunities for category differentiation.
Investment: From £4,250 (exc. VAT)
PHASE 2: DEFINE THE BRAND. NEW FRAMEWORK AND GTM PLAYBOOK.
The next phase builds on the findings from the Discover Phase to design a brand’s commercial and messaging infrastructure. Here, we translate the draft framework into a cohesive brand strategy. The aim is to unify teams and customers around a definitive market position and distinctive value proposition.
If you need additional research and validation this will be scoped and charged based on specific project milestones and stakeholder availability.
Timeline: 2 to 6 weeks.
Deliverables: Finalised brand framework and go-to-market playbook. Defining your core brand proposition and stakeholder messaging, with a practical 3-Horizons execution roadmap. This may also include specific elements such as brand architectures, creative briefs, and measurement frameworks.
Investment: Typically £10,000 to £25,000 (exc. VAT)
PHASE 3: STEWARD THE DESIGN. IDENTITY, EXPERIENCE AND PRODUCT.
Strategy only works if it translates to design. Once the framework is locked, I lead the creative briefing to ensure a seamless handover to design teams. From there, I am flexibly available for senior advisory and creative alignment.
Deliverables: Attend planning and review meetings. Collaborate with design teams. Scope validation research. Author strategy chapters of design and experience playbooks.
Investment: Hourly, based on project need.
